HOW IT STARTED
MEETING JACOB
In 2016, during a visit to Zambia, Rob and Ian met a remarkable man named Jacob in one of Lusaka’s poorest communities. While they were struck by the extreme poverty, what stayed with them most was Jacob’s quiet strength, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to others. Despite having almost nothing, Jacob was feeding, mentoring, and raising children who had no one - creating a safe space in the midst of hardship. His example lit a spark that couldn’t be ignored.
BECOMING A FOUNDATION
Jacob’s example lit a spark in Rob and Ian. What began as a personal effort to support Jacob and the children soon grew into a shared mission to uplift entire communities. Rob and Ian realised that with the right structure, their support could reach further and last longer. By 2018, they established a formal charitable foundation - one dedicated to creating real long-term impact. Since then, the foundation has helped build a hospital in the heart of the Chibolya slum, expanded the orphanage program is Lusaka, ad delivered access to medical care, education, and stability to those who needed it most.
JACOB’S VISION IS BORN
Though Jacob has since tragically passed, his legacy continues to guide the foundation’s mission. In 2023, the organisation was renamed Jacob’s Vision Foundation in his honour. Every project, every life touched, and every future made brighter is a tribute to the values he lived by - compassion, integrity, and hope. Jacob’s vision lives on, not just in the name, but in action.

Jacob’s Vision remains built on the same purpose that started it: real change begins with people. We’re not backed by corporations or largescale grants. We’re driven by individuals who believe in sustainable, community-led impact. Every donation, no matter how small, fuels a legacy of hope and meaningful transformation.
OUR CURRENT FOCUS
Our current efforts are focused in Zambia, where we’ve helped grow a one-of-a-kind orphan care and education model in Lusaka. These aren’t just basic services. They’re lifelines - safe, stable spaces where children receive meals, education, mentorship, and a future.
EXPANDING THE VISION
These programs have proven that our model isn’t just effective - it’s replicable. With the right support, we can take what’s worked in Chibolya and apply it to other communities facing similar challenges. This need is enormous, but so is the potential for lasting change.
